Your journey starts with the right documents.

A visa or eTA does not include park admission or activity permits. Confirm your lodge or tour operator has arranged the correct permits for your dates and keep the confirmations with your passport.

The East Africa Tourist Visa covers tourism in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda for 90 days, with multiple entries while remaining within those countries. Apply through the country you will enter first. It does not cover Tanzania, including Zanzibar and Pemba. Check re-entry conditions before adding Tanzania to your itinerary, and confirm whether an existing regional visa exempts you from Kenya's eTA.

Health requirements depend on where you have travelled and transited, as well as your destination. Tanzania's yellow fever rules can apply to arrivals from listed countries, including Kenya and Uganda. Check the official notice for transit conditions and exceptions, and discuss vaccination or medical exemptions with a travel-health clinician.

Check entry or transit permission for every country on your itinerary. For children, confirm individual passport and application requirements, and whether birth certificates or parental consent documents are needed for your family circumstances.
